Wild Walks
Meet our re-wildling helpers
Experience our re-wilding environment
One of the best ways to get up close and personal to our wilding area is by taking part on one of our Wild Walks.
This guided tour will allow you to see our re-wilding helpers such as the wild ponies, pigs and water buffalo, and the differences they have already made to the landscape. Breathe in nature and keep your eyes and ears open for birds, butterflies and other invertebrates that are slowly returning and establishing their homes in the area. Each month will provide different wildlife sightings, and you will help directly by recording the species that we encounter. Half way through the tour we will take a break at one of our beauty spots.
These tours will take place on a Thursday and Saturday morning starting at 11.00am and will last approximately 2.0 hours with frequent stops to look and listen for wildlife. Some areas of the walk will be over uneven ground so you will require a moderate level of fitness. Please wear appropriate footwear such as walking boots/shoes or wellies as some areas can be very wet and muddy! The tour starts and ends at the Wild Cat kitchen in the shepherds hut field. Please arrive 10 minutes prior to the start, and don’t forget to bring your binoculars!
Price per person £28
NOTE: Please note that we cannot guarantee you will see the wildlife you want to see on any of our tours, as nature is very unpredictable! However, we are confident that you will have an enjoyable experience on your tour with us, come rain or shine!
