Camping
Cosy accommodation on the edge of the re-wilding area
Our camping field is private and peaceful, offers many generous pitches for you to erect your tent, and is only a short walk from the car parking area, where we have hard standing for camper vans. There is a large fire pit in the centre of the field and wood can be purchased from our office.
Each pitch has a maximum of 4 people per pitch, and is situated at least 10m from other pitches. Campers should provide their own tents, if you require a pre-erected furnished bell tent, this may be possible, for an additional charge, email enquiriescoombeshead@gmail.com for further details. We also welcome camper vans and we have hardstanding available, but we do not have electric or water hook-ups.
A heated shower and compost toilets are available on site, as well as use of our communal areas.
There is no formal check in, but we ask that you please visit the office when you arrive to acquire an information pack and a site map. Please arrive before dark to allow you to find your pitch and put up your tent safely. Check out is 11am on the date of your departure. Please vacate your pitch before 11am and leave the site as you found it. We regret we cannot accept dogs or children under ten.
Campers can arrive on any day, and stay between one and seven nights. Bookings include a complimentary Animal Encounters activity, these happen on a Thursday and Saturday morning only, starting at 09:30 for 1,5 hours. Please remember to add additional activities such as Beaver Watching and guided Wild Walk when you book.
Please note the Beaver Watching activity takes place on Wednesday and Friday evenings only, starting at around 7pm (depending on time of year, check the notice boards) for approximately 2.5 hours, while the guided Wild Walk is on a Thursday and Saturday morning only, starting at 11:00 for approximately 2 hours.
