We hope that your stay at Coombeshead will be an unforgettable experience. To make the most of your stay, why not book onto one of our tours? Tours operate between May and September inclusively.  These tours can be booked on the accommodation page, or you can book at the office during your stay.  For those not staying with us you book by emailing enquiriescoombeshead@gmail.com specifying the tour you are interested in, number of participants and date.

Wild Walk

This Ecologist lead walk through our rewilding area. Bring your boots,  binoculars and soak in the sights and sounds of the returning wildlife. Gain a greater connection to Nature.

Beaver Watching

Pass a couple of hours as night falls in our well established wetland habitat where you can view our iconic landscape engineers at work.

Self Guided Tours

While you are with us why not visit our Rewilding Garden to see and learn how nature recovery can be kick started in smaller areas.  If you are feeling enegetic why do one of our self guided rewilding walks, The Upcott Trails, guide booklets are available from the site office or in your welcome pack.

Film & Photography

Our site offers a unique opportunity to film and photograph a broad range of incredibly rare and charismatic species. With expert animal handlers and quality built sets you can produce that shot that sets you head and shoulders above the rest. Contact photography@derekgowconsultancy.com

We are offering a wide variety of workshops from learning how to bring back nature, into your garden or at landscape scale. Ecology, Water Vole handling & Management, Rewilding, Natural Dyes and much more.  Bespoke courses for beginners to professionals, individuals to teams. Courses can be tailored to suit your organisations unique requirements.

Mammal Society - Beaver Ecology & Conservation

23rd April

This one-day course is delivered in partnership with the Beaver Trust. The course leaders will provide a comprehensive exploration of the Eurasian beaver and its return to Britain's waterways using their expertise in conservation, ecology and land management. A CPD certificate will be provided on completion of this course.

Rewilding Course Field Trip

6-8th May
The online course 3-day field experience, designed for anyone passionate about restoring natural habitats and species recovery in the UK. Our course covers the key aspects of rewilding, habitat and countryside management, species reintroduction, habitat and species monitoring techniques and management planning.

Practical Rewilding Course

15-16th May
This course provides an introduction to rewilding in the UK context and how it can be applied at a variety of scales. Beginning with an overview of the history and different applications of the practice both in Britain and overseas, the course will focus on practical demonstration of rewilding at Rewilding Coombeshead.

Beaver Survey Methods and Management

3rd July
This one day course aims to build on previously gained knowledge of beavers in Scotland, England and Wales. By the end of the course you will be able to find, identify and assess their field signs and impacts through a range of monitoring methods. In addition, you will feel confident with current beaver management techniques and associated licensing.

The third year of our groundbreaking symposiums brought to you by Keep it Wild. We'll be tackling the thorny issues, facilitating much needed conversations, raising the bar on nature recovery.

A practical course giving an introduction to rewilding landscapes principals, concepts and methods. We will look at how rewilding rebuilds species populations and habitats, and look at examples of how to put these into practice.
